NCL at the Singapore International Cyber Week (SICW) - GovWare 2024 Exhibition & Conference

The National Cybersecurity R&D Laboratory (NCL) participated in the ninth edition of the Singapore International Cyber Week (SICW) – GovWare Exhibition & Conference, which took place from 15-17 October 2024, at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore.

The Singapore International Cyber Week (SICW) is the Asia-Pacific’s most established cybersecurity event organised by the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA). Under the theme of “Trust and Security in the Digital Era”, SICW 2024 aimed to drive critical conversations and partnerships to foster trust and enhance security in the digital and cyber domain.

The NCL team was present throughout all three days at the Institutes of Higher Learning (IHL) pavilion, sharing insights about NCL's cloud services, tools, projects, and training programs, including cyber exercises and Capture the Flags (CTFs), and various opportunities available such as internships and scholarships. This year’s exhibition provided a platform for connecting, exchanging ideas, and collaborating with cybersecurity professionals, industry peers, researchers, and students. Thanks to CSA for this great opportunity.

Additionally, the NCL team attended the “Empowering Research, Innovation & Enterprise (RIE)” forum, organized in partnership with CSA and the CyberSG R&D Programme Office (CRPO), a national center at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) dedicated to advancing cybersecurity innovation and strengthening Singapore’s digital resilience.

The “Empowering RIE” forum was a significant gathering that brought together thought leaders, policymakers, and practitioners to explore the latest trends in cybersecurity. Speakers included David Koh, Chief Executive of the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore; Craig Stephen, Executive Vice-President of R&D, Oracle; and Professor Luke Ong, Vice-President, NTU; Professor Wenke Lee, Executive Director, Institute for Information Security & Privacy; Ms. Sharon Tan, Engineer, Abnormal Security & Mr. Gaurav Keerthi (Moderator), Executive Vice President, Advisory & Emerging Business, Ensign Infosecurity. They shared valuable insights into cybersecurity trends, innovation, and governance based on their extensive experience.
