Honored to have Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore, Mr. Heng Swee Keat at NCL Booth – GovWare 2023 Conference and Exhibition

National Cybersecurity R&D Laboratory participated in the GovWare 2023 Conference and Exhibition held on 17-19 Oct 2023 at MBS Expo and Convention Center, Singapore.

Under the theme “Fostering Trust Through Collaboration in the New Digital Reality”, GovWare 2023, a part of the renowned Singapore International Cyber Week (SICW), was set to deliver transformative insights that address the ever-evolving cybersecurity landscape. GovWare 2023 was supported by the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) and a network of community partners across the region.

Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore, Mr. Heng Swee Keat visited our booth on the 1st day of GovWare 2023. NCL Lead Principal Investigator and Associate Professor Dr Chang Ee-Chien shared insights about NCL’s current research and interesting ongoing projects to the Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore. NCL express its gratitude to Cyber Security Agency of Singapore for the opportunity.

GovWare 2023 provided an excellent opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and collaborate with the cybersecurity professionals & practitioners, industry peers, and researchers. NCL team was available all the three days and shared insights about NCL's services, tools, projects, and the opportunities we have on offer, including internships and scholarships.

NCL offers computing resources and controlled experimentation environments to facilitate collaborative research among academia, government bodies, and industry. The NCL Cybersecurity Compute Infrastructure (CCI) comprises a cluster of 300+ nodes with diverse provisioning mechanisms, security data, and security services. The NCL CCI provides a realistic and safe environment to test and validate before the systems are deployed in production.

NCL Testbed is set up to support cyber-security researchers engaged in the research, development, experimentation, and testing of innovative cybersecurity technology. NCL supports a wide range of training and cyber exercises, including CTF events.

The GreyHats CTF 2023 event, jointly organized by the National Cybersecurity R&D Lab (NCL) and NUS Greyhats , took place from July 15th to 16th, 2023, at the School of Computing, National University of Singapore. The event witnessed the participation of 90 finalists who formed 15 teams , including 5 international teams and 10 local teams . These 90 finalists had previously competed in the GreyHats qualifier rounds and successfully qualified for the NUS GreyHats CTF 2023 event. Critical Infrastructure Defence Exercise (CIDeX) 2023

National Cybersecurity R&D Lab (NCL) had the opportunity to support Critical Infrastructure Defence Exercise (CIDeX) 2023 from 22nd November to 24th November 2023 held at the School of Computing, National University Singapore (NUS). The event involves over 200 participants coming from DIS, CSA and 24 other national agencies across six Critical Information Infrastructure (CII) Sectors. Mr. Heng Chee How, the Senior Minister of State for Defence, and Dr. Janil Puthucheary, the Senior Minister of State for Communications and Information and Health, attended the Critical Infrastructure Defence Exercise (CIDeX) 2023 on 24th of November 2023. The Youth Cyber Exploration Programme (YCEP) Central Capture-the-Flag 2023 competition took place on the 25th of July 2023, in conjunction with WorldSkills ASEASN 2023, at Suntec Convention Centre witnessed close to 70 finalists from different schools.
